New Yorker, Robbin Bain, poses for photographers at the Waldorf Astoria after winning the title of Miss Rheingold 1959. More than 24,000,000 ballots were cast in the election, largest since voting began in 1939, said Liebmann Breweries, the sponsor. Robbin, a successful model and actress, will receive a contract worth $50,000 from the brewery. As for men, she likes the real masculine type who loves outdoor sports, has a sense of humor and is intelligent. December 30, 1958. (Photo by Barney Stein/New York Post/Photo Archives, LLC)
